Back to the Eighties - Episode 330 - It's Better To Burn Out, Than To Fade Away

Duncan from Stacebob and the Dweebs joins us again this week, and his choice of 80's movie as always is a good 'un; he's only gone and picked Highlander, hasn't he?

The movie all about immortals fighting with swords featuring the talents of not only Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery, and introducing to the world the legend that is Clancy Brown, and that also spawned what seems like a million awful sequels and a badass TV programme.

There can be only one. As long as that one is Clancy Brown.

Back to the Eighties - The Nerva Beacon Podcast - Episode 11: The Fourth Doctor - Humour and Entropy

It was change again in 1978 when Graham Williams and Anthony Read took over the Who reins, and again in 1980, when JNT started his 9 year tenure at the helm, while Christopher H Bidmead tried to science up the show a bit.

Were they successful? Leigh and Glenn attempt to make sense of the turbulence surrounding the latter years of Tom Baker's tenure as the Doctor!

It's time for round 2 of your lost memories with Jenny from World of Crap! From Pop-up Ninja Mansions, to gobstoppers which make your insides go blue, to Su Pollard playing Peggy in everything ever made, it's all here.

We also sadly say goodbye to some legends this week. Of three very different types. Getting old sucks.

Back to the Eighties - Episode 328 - Well, WE Liked Them

Andy from the Smorgaspod joins us this week, and it's all about the failed 80s movies, or the movies that we thought should have gone far further than they did - the movies that didn't get franchises, or make loads of money, but that we thought were actually pretty good.

Masters of the Universe, Flash Gordon - we're looking at you here.

It's all change for Doctor Who in 1974, with not only a new Doctor in the shape of one Tom Baker, but also a new production team, including Producer Philip Hinchcliffe and Script Editor Robert Holmes. But how did they get on?

Join Leigh and Glenn as they attempt to judge with the benefit of hindsight!
